This past saturday H and I found ourselves wandering around the Schlossplatz area at our favorite market. Today's list.... Lemons, parsley, kolarobie, and maybe a truffle or two Oh and 2 ties for Sam's upcoming trip....... My favorite view of the city is the view from Stuttgart-Degerloch. Degerloch is one of the many communities that make up the city of Stuttgart and it is situated at the top of the city. The views overlooking the city are breathtaking on a sunny day, and almost equally spectacular on a cloudy day. Lucky for me this area is only a mile or two from where we live and anytime we have to go into the downtown area we either get to drive this route or see it from the U bahn.
Other sights featured are part of the Marian platz. Marian platz is at the bottom of the mountain where the Zachke begins on the way to Degerloch. The old palace is adjacent to the New palace in the pedestrian area new the market. I find the old palace while not as flashey as the new palace to be equaly beautiful. The old palace has walkways and hidden treasures to see, with gradure that is simple and yet elegant. Finally I couldn't help but feature this art work from the Rathaus where the saturday market is held. Well the market is in the square in front , but the courthouse has many hidden charms inside it's doors as you can see.
An Old man was Walking along the beach one evening at low tide. He noticed that thousands of Starfish had been stranded on the sand by the receding waters. In the course of his walk he came upon a young man who was picking up some of the starfish and throwing them back into the sea. " What are you doing?" the old man asked. "Oh just saving some starfish." the young man replied "Well you're a fool." the old man told him " Really? replied the young man. " What makes you say so?" "well just look at all the starfish on this beach. There are thousands of them." The old man looked around and then at the young man. " You don't have the time nor the energy to save all of them. Your saving a few starfish is nice, but in the larger scheme of things it's ridiculous. What difference could you possibly make?" The young man looked at the old man for a moment. Then wordlessly, he bent down, picked up a starfish, and threw it far out into the water. "well," he said, putting his hands on his hips in satisfaction, "I made a big difference to that one." -Anonymous

Things to Think About
" People cease to believe because they cease to understand because they cease to do things that express the understanding. Yucatan work excludes nothing false and omits nothing true." ~ Thomas Moore
